The Location
The house is situated in a residential area known as Montferrutx,adjoining the coastal village of Colonia de St. Pere, on the east side of the Bay of Alcudia. It is just under an hour's drive from Palma airport.
The location is blissfully rural and has not been invaded by the building developers. This is will remain the case for the foreseeable future, since the area is surrounded by nature reserves (S'Albufera), natural parks (Parc Natural de Llevant), and protected areas of declared special natural interest.
Colonia de San Pere is a lovely, quiet village, with a lot of character. It is perfectly nestled between the sea and the dramatic hills of the Serra de Llevant. It has a beautiful sea-side promenade with many excellent restaurants. It has its own Marina, a beautiful small safe beach with its own life-guard during the high season, and all the necessary facilities such as small supermarkets, paper shop, banks, pharmacy, bakery, etc.
The village is within easy reach of many interesting places, from the idyllic and secluded coves and beaches, only accessible by foot, to the hustle & bustle of more touristy resorts like Can Picafort and Alcudia. (See links page).
